controller
"Controller" was inspired by Emily's frustration of feeling controlled by the gatekeepers of the music industry. With this song, Emily takes her power back in an empowering pop anthem where she has determined her sound and her voice. After some failed collaborations and attempts at releasing her own music, Emily was connected with a label and a producer that understood her vision and had the tools available to bring it to life. Emily was assisted by the mysterious new act ASTRØMAN, of Goathead Records, to produce the song. Emily produced the demo for "Controller" and ASTRØMAN created the full sound. The soundscape is inspired by the retro video games of the 90's and the vocals are an ode to the pop of the era. A clear aim at nostalgia and a nod to Emily's origin, but delightfully modern - AI generated cartoon characters meet 8-bit gaming. The tune showcases funky guitars, subtle cowbells, and best of all, a spunky bassline that dances along to the insatiable beat. This song is worth the listen and this story is worth hearing. The Missing Part
"The Missing Part" is a Electro-Pop Dance track with Eastern Influences that explores concepts of loneliness and heartbreak in an era of technological hyper-connectedness. This song, produced by ASTRØMAN, features the middle eastern instruments Duduk, Oud, and the Sarod. These instruments set a mystical tone for this bass heavy dance record. The narrative tells of a loyal girl's love, strong enough to move the moon for her lover. Sadly, however her energy and efforts are not reciprocated here and she is tortured by watching his mistakes from afar via social media unable to really get that true connectedness she longs for. Inspiration for this song comes from the times we currently live in, where we are all more connected than ever via the internet, yet somehow we can find ourselves feeling more alone than ever too. This record makes a statement on the direction Emily is taking with her music, marching forward with another distinct dance pop hit while showcasing her notable vocals and thoughtful songwriting.
